After some little problems in late June, I return to the competition. Preparation level that the classic, three weeks, the first with a 12x200 5x1000 and the second with 30/30 and a 3x2000 and a third week lighter.

For once, my audience was in place! I had to "get" a decent performance! Because it is fine to go to the calibrated band, one that never goes out very late, not drinking too much thinking about his drive tomorrow, so that all these extravaganzas are justified must be the result!

The weather was worthy Fall : Little more than 18 degrees, overcast, some rain intermittently. In short, a detestable weather for spectators, but ideal for performance (with the possible exception of wind)

Departure at 18h, the beginning of the race forms a loop on the port of Saint-Martin , allowing viewers to see the pack go twice in 5 minutes. It is also an ideal opportunity for some to go as nags, excited by the encouragement (What I did last year!)

(P o the record, the type has exploded in flight on the 3rd .... km)

Back to my race! Aware of the distance, I tried to phase the machine started, calmly reach my cruising speed. I felt to have been delayed until I reach the 5th kilometer in just under 20 minutes! I So the right pace.

Until mid race I did not see the time passing. Shortly after ravito of midterm I started to suffer a bit and count the time and miles to go until the finish, without being in agony, I always had the energy to keep pace and continue to exceed (or races are quiet and hand it over or along the route are by far the nicest!)

Little concern for the last 2 miles: My number which was torn off, not resistant to wind and rain! For fear of disqualification so I I ran it now on the chest, which gave me a wonderful look of lame!

I want to have achieved the perfect race at the management level of my effort, have made progress, but there is a BIG PROBLEM away. Everybody makes about 2 minutes better than another 15km! The organizers acknowledge that the race is 14km800, but rather should be 14km500 (and I'm nice). Why would something as rough? Flatter ego riders? Attracting riders wishing to establish a personal best?

The worst was coming. In the overall standings was 49th out just under 700, and first in my category. I was hoping to bring a small cup. Eh bah non! I stuffed all the awards (and god knows how much it sucks when it concerns that unknown), and no reward category hope! The juniors have been entitled to a small check and a cup, and nothing for the above category! First the ONLY category non gratifiée , c'est assez rageant.

A croire que les « jeunes » (générations 89,88 et 87) n'intéressent pas les organisateurs, si on nous ignore, il ne faut pas s'étonner que la course à pied ne draine que très peu de jeunes !

Ces deux raisons (métrage approximatif et oubli d'une catégorie) font que je ne reviendrais plus sur cette course !

After I ran 7km 15.6 km / h, I hope to reach the 15km / h over a distance of 14km. Objective crazy? Yet I think:)

Departure the race was scheduled to 19h. Suffice to say that I spent all aprem in circles at home!
After checking three or four times that I had forgotten anything I am directed to Aytré.
I got there at 18:10 and I am surprised to see many riders romp about an hour before the start! I quickly erased that thought benoite to tell me that these riders would probably prepare a marathon, and they make the semi ( there were a choice and a semi 7 KM) a thorough workout.

After I put in place, an issue I worked and if I ran with my heart? It would be ideal to monitor my pace? I decided to do my cardio warm-up company to decide.
5 minutes later the decision was taken, the heart would follow the race ... wisely stowed in my car, I do not feel "free" with him, and then somehow it is not encrypted!

After warming up, I am lined up behind the line at 18:55, and as often taken by an urge to go, I went to relieve myself at 6:58 p.m.!
Waiting in the starting line, this time or we burn with impatience, like a bull waiting to get in fury arenas ( well that, unlike the bull our life is not really at risk ) would nevertheless continue, since the start was delayed 15 minutes due to the abundance of latecomers to the registration.

Once the race started, and to remain in the animal vocabulary, I tried not to leave a greyhound for not grilling me stupidly ( mistake a month ago on 10 km). Unfortunately I could not measure the effectiveness of my moderation, since the first kilometer was not subject to marking! Too bad!

The first 4 km were wonderfully chained , sensations were good. A sweet sense of harmony inhabited me while I passed some riders.
Things started to go wrong with the approach of the 4th kilometer, a certain esouffrance started to win me, but I think this passage is mandatory when you run a certain intensity! However, to mitigate for these tough races, I think I'll split more along the next time ( series example 2000m).
So I pushed the vehicle from the 4th, my body showed its displeasure with breathing became increasingly noisy and a stride that seemed more irregular.

After a last lap ( I always enjoy the arrival on the tracks, the fact of arriving in a stadium, it gives a sense of glory! ), I reached the finish in 26min55 This corresponds to an average of about 3'50 kilometer ( 15.6 km / h ).

In the manner of a professional club leader, I can only rejoice in the "balance sheet" of this day, in fact, as was hoped, I managed to keep a pace 0.6 km / h faster than my previous best performance (39'55 to 10k a month ago ). After drinking several glasses of water and coca, I headed to my car to return home quickly. Hop a shower, a dish of lasagna and I'm left in 3rd gear on my bike for the 8 km swallow me that separate me Aytré to attend the awards ceremony.
At least I did not move for anything, I was pleased to discover that I was ranked 1st in hope! Good said this is not so hard, given the small contingent of runners this age (between 19 and 22 years). In overall I'm 18th out of 250.

I had the pleasure to climb the top step of the podium, I received a cup and a watch, veni vidi vici ! The smile from ear to ear, I left on my trusty mountain bike, avoiding the drops ( it rained tons of water, but not during my race or during my round trip by bike! )

More than six days before my next race, this part of the training is always delicate and yet it is not to tear the intensive workouts. It is instead to mark a phase of relief to gain the full impact of the training and arrive and in top form on race day. Any plan

Par expérience personnelle, je sais qu'ont peut rater une course avant même d'être derrière la ligne de départ ! Même si votre corps vous le réclame (comme me), resist! overcompensate ! Keep your energy for the race! A final session of fractionated (15x30/30, 10x400, 6x1000 ...) or a final exit long are not permitted!

I am since the beginning of May, a plan for races of 5 to 10km. This plan aims at preparing me for a 7km scheduled for 6 / 06.
Being totally new to this distance, I think my speed based on "10 Km" eventually accelerate in the last two kilometers.
My real goal? Achieving print faster than In my last 10k ( 39'55, so 15km / h ) to possibly sustain that on other distances in the near future.

I say this for the umpteenth time, but this time in my whole racing career, is the race that I have prepared more seriously! ( The preparation of my semi early March should not be far behind, however ), so I followed this plan allowing me a few adjustments, I have such a session 6x4minutes replaced by another 5x1000, this I found it more appropriate to prepare a 7km.

Yesterday, Thursday 28 (or 9 days before the race) I did my last "big" meeting, 5x1000 a 90% VMA ( pursuing the same method to determine speed drive )

sessions "1000" are a must in the preparation a race of 5 km to the semi. Suffice to say that every rider stuck with such a meeting sooner or later.

Around noon, after 20 minutes of jogging so I sent them 5x1000, my slowest was completed in 3'47 and my fastest (the second I think) in 3'38. I watched 1min45 of Recycling 'between the 1000.

I find these sessions interesting because they are a ruthless developer, no hope of hooking a race pace if you can not hold on this series!

In the world of runners, there are three kinds, those who are in music and those who do not run with music ( you know how the distinction between those who can count and those who do not know *)
Proud owner of an iPod nano first generation (Which follows me since I started in the trade) and armed with a Nike + iPod kit so I'm part of the first community. My musical
races include two exceptions:
  1. I never run with headphones in your ears if I'm accompanied ( if I run with someone so much enjoy his company )
  2. I never run with music race, to feel fully the feelings of the competition.

Music is part of my daily runner, even if it's a little less I started, I was unable or to run without music, as an appliance without electricity!

I'll show you today one of my favorite songs to run. These "You Know My Name" performed by Chris Cornell . This is the theme song from "Casino Royale " , the first James Bond played by Daniel Craig.

Whatever my session (footing, more or less hard drive) I always feel a certain pleasure to listen to this song, it always gives me fishing!

Coasts, and for what?



Les séances d'accélérations en côte sont unanimement considérées comme useful, indeed essential to prepare the rider with performance targets.

But what is it?


First, we can define the negative side session:
  • This is not a work of "VMA", neither long nor short.
  • The meeting of coast is not just for runners preparing for a trail or a rolling test, these sessions are not intended to turn into biped polka dot jersey.
This type of meeting is therefore not intended to replace your normal sessions split of short and long, your sessions "threshold" and is intended for all riders.

Let's go to the heart of the matter: The fundamental interest of these sessions is the development of muscle power (c e is useful to protect against muscle and joint injuries and particularly to gain strength) and improving your "style" ( placement of your pool when accelerating uphill work is the efficiency of your stride )

To work your muscle power you can also work on weight machines. But if like me you have the fitness room in horror, the meeting of coastline is the perfect remedy!

But how?

start by heating in workmanlike (about 20minutes, possible stretching, a few accelerations to put muscle on the way ...)

You need a coast. The experts recommend a side of 5-7%. It does not speak to you? Simply put it is to find a hill steep enough, but do not be too Nor (if your wake could be affected by the altitude), everything is in the compromise.

To give the best of oneself during a race, you must follow a structured training plan.
Fortunately, these plans abound in magazines and online, but must still be able to implement them.

Suffice it to refer to the results to see my speed on a 100% fractional short VMA (the sprint workouts) and split along (the speed workouts).
All this thanks to the knowledge of a reference value another distance!
This method seems particularly effective given the vagueness of the tests and estimates of the VMAs (which can be biased upward or downward depending on the mind, envy ...)
For my part, estimates vary between 16.5 and 18!

native of St. Christopher in the county of Portneuf, near Quebec City, Denis Côté is attracted to folk music and what the instrument accordion from the age of 15. Even if his father is a great accordionist, however, is that grandmother who taught him his first musical notes.

Welder training, he held several jobs, but it is music to the son who for years led him to begin a professional career in 1974. Forty-four years after touching his accordion, Denis Côté is consistently recognized as one of the best folklorists in Quebec and elsewhere, it is among those who led the folk music which was seen as playing a style only during the holiday season and St. John the Baptist, to be part of different events, as well as other genres of music and thus be produced and distributed throughout the year .

Today, Denis Côté took part in various festivals and shows across Canada, last year he was part of the production "There's lots of sun in France, which will be presented on CBC TV TQS.

Gay Meeting Places In Hyd

La Rochelle, 2009 Edition! My

I ran a month ago to the day the semi La Rochelle, this race was particularly important to me:
- I had followed a " real "workout plan in four weeks, with the VMA, a cardio work, the" look semi ",...
-For the first time I was rewriting a race! I was a little more confident, I knew how to handle the hydration Pending ... and I had a reference time for the distance (1:37) has improved.

This race is classified under the category of good moments in my young career, everything went well, the weather was perfect, there was little wind, but when compared to the downpour last year it was ecstasy!

After heating in a workmanlike and well digested waiting behind the line, "BANG!" First mile looped 4min05 third in 12 minutes, but soon I feel that this rate of 4min/km is a bit too much for me, so I slowed slightly while Throughout the race.
To keep a good pace, I found a hare easy to spot, the first female! So I stayed at his heels until the finish, although the last few kilometers were hard summers, with an unpleasant sensation of trembling in the legs.

Finally, I reached the finish in 1h27minutes50s quite happy to have significantly improved my record over the distance (10 minutes) and on this test (of 18minutes!). Only drawback, it will be difficult to win even 10 minutes next year!

three days after passing the official results I discovered that I was 1st in hope (85th overall on almost 1000)! Nice surprise!
